Mold Making for Jewelry and other objects
Through the use of a vulcanizer, we can use different types of rubbers to create a mold out of any Jewelry piece, or object that you desire to replicate.
This Process requires high temperatures to wrap the object or model with rubber to form a mold that is 99% exact to the original. Depending on the Piece of Jewelry or object that is desired to be molded, certain materials will be better off than others depending on your budget and desired end results.
Mold making is not just limited to Jewelry and other small artifacts, as mold of things such as large cuffs, bracelets, and figurines can be made for the purpose of wax injections for any metal casting.
Contenti Moldex Silicone Mold Rubber
This synthetic mold rubber is as soft and pliable as modeling clay, allowing you to press your model into the rubber without time consuming cutting and pre-forming of the rubber.
No rubber residue adheres to models, even after repeated vulcanizations.
In its vulcanized form, Contenti Moldex is self-lubricating, so that waxes can be cast without using release agents. As a result, wax surfaces are shiny and smooth, which means better metal castings.
Castaldo VLT Silicone Mold Rubbber
High-volume, heat-cured production molds directly from CAD/CAM or rapid prototyping patterns quickly and without damage to the pattern from heat or pressure.
Castaldo VLT vulcanizes at temperatures as low as 160°F (71°C). At this low temperature you can even make a mold from a wax pattern. And shrinkage is only 1.4%, because of the low curing temperature.
Since it is silicone rubber, Castaldo VLT produces highly detailed wax injections with extremely smooth surfaces that require less finishing. Waxes are self-releasing and need no release agents, and molds are easy to pack and cut.
